What is the 2002 40th Anniversary Morgan 'Le Mans 62' ?

In 2002 the Morgan Motor Company built only 80 limited edition
Anniversary models of the classic Morgan Sports Car to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 1962 Le Mans class win by the Morgan Race Car registered as TOK 258.

Of the 80 cars built, 40 of these were built with a 3900cc V8 engine (+8) and 40 with the 1800 engine (4/4).

When Morgan launched the Le Mans '62 all the production of 80 cars were allocated within 72 hours, such was the attraction of this piece of motoring nostalgia.

Features of the cars:
  • The cars were all 'clothed' in 'Le Mans Green' paintwork
  • Ivory coloured removable carbon fibre hard top to mimic the design and colour scheme of the original winning car - TOK 258
  • Special 'Le Mans 62' personalised instruments in the wooden dashboard
  • Black leather upholstery with perforated panels and trim reflect the 'period' feel of this already 'traditional' vehicle
  •  Wooden Mota-Lita steering wheel bears the individual number of each car
  • Unique 'Le Mans 62' embossed carpet sets
  • Large 16" x 6" stainless steel wire wheels with 'knock-off' spinners (where regulations allowed)
  • Slightly raked windscreen to give improved aerodynamic profile
  • 'Racing slick' style tyres finish the tribute to the racing heritage
  • Stainless Steel Sports Exhaust
  • Drilled alloy brake and clutch pedals
  • Organ style accelerator pedal
  • Stainless Steel Over riders
  • Numbered 'Le Mans 62' Dashboard Badge
  • Identifying 'Le Mans 62' badge on the rear panel
  • Individual signed certificates bearing the original signatures of Peter Morgan, Chris Lawrence and Richard Shepherd-Baron (the two latter signatures the original driver and co-driver of TOK 258)

The Registers 'mission' is to track down all the 80 cars and hopefully you can see other Le Mans '62 in the 'Register of Le Mans '62' . We managed to have 24 of the cars together at the Morgan Centenary Event in 2009 (see picture above showing some of the cars present)

Thank you for your interest in the Le Mans '62 from Morgan Motor Company.  Please feel free to email the  Register if you want any further information (We know a man who can help!) or to pass us information on the location of other Le Mans '62 Cars.
